Hey, well im the kind of player that doesnt like to spend time or money on getting a sweet enchant or purple weapon at level 25 or 42 or any random level.  I do like getting purple stuff at level 70 (and level 60 before BC).  It seems like a waste of time to me to get an awesome weapon that takes rep unless your gonna keep it for end game (forever).  So im going to the Exalted Dagger.  But as I said ive never gotten anything that has taken rep so my question is...If I become Exalted with the Consortium, and get the dagger, can I also get something else that takes "exalted" to get also?  or even an item that takes "honored" to get.  Or does my rep go away?

alright end of feb and still no monthly gems since i made friendly back in january, what the hell. anyone actually gotten their second set yet?

Just wanted to confirm that I did get my monthly gems yesterday 3/9.  I don't know how long they've been there to get, but they are available.  I am only friendly with them right now, but he gave me a shadow draenite, a golden draenite, and a flame spessarite.  We'll see how much better the gems are next month when I hope to have a higher reputation with them!

if your a jewelcrafter your gonna need to get revered with the consortium, they have a vendor inside karazhan who sells designs for some powerful meta gems, one of which has 26 healing, yes 26, and 2% threat reduction and thats the design that requires revered so everyone will be wanting it

I've gone well into Revered in the course of farming those Zaxxis mobs for netherweave cloth (they may not have best drop rate, but they're really close to a town that has a bank). No matter where you get your rep from, though, you're in for a pretty mindless grind. I suggest just doing it for an hour or two each day, or until you get bored. What's also nice about the Zaxxis guys is that they don't hit very hard, unlike the ogres. And they're all melee.

I have done both. I recommend the Northern Nagrand Ogres myself (locks and warriors). Especially if you mine. The Zaxxis are difficult to attack without drawing bunches in the fray. The patches seem to have a tad better drop rate but with the Orges I never have to heal myself, they drop a ton of Netherweave, 4 or 5 Adamantite nodes consistently appear in that area. Ogres also drop a lot more Healing pots than Zaxxis it seems. Plus you get Maghar rep for the kills and beads for Consortium. Perfect place IMO. Also get creative. I tell questers I will help them take down their elite quests if they let me pick up all the Warbeads on the way up and back. You pick up warbeads fast that way. However, if you have someone helping for strictly for rep then go Zaxxis in Netherstorm for the drop rate.

friendly is very easy to get without trying by doing the quests at aeris landing, it also helps if you ran mana tombs around lvl 65.  at honored i farmed ogre war beads in nagrand, the drop rate is lower than zaxxis insignias and if your farming at level 70 its just as easy to kill the zaxxis ethereals so i would do that.  also now that the new quests have come out in the last patch, zaxxis etherals have the chance to drop ethereum prison keys, ive been farming for a couple hours and gotten 5 keys already. 

10 insignias = 250 rep
40 insignias = 1k rep
1 prison key = 250 rep
4 prison key = 1k rep

also farming humanoids such as ethereals gives huge amounts of netherweave cloth to sell which is typically 4 or 5 gold on my server at the AH.  also of the 5 prison keys i used, 3 of the monsters freed dropped blue items

if you have the means, then Nstorm is so much greater than nagrand

Can you grind Zaxxis insignias or Obsidian warbeads all the way to exalted?  And me being low in rep, no, heroic mana-tombs won't work for me at this moment.  (Plus I can't spend too much time in instances cuz I have 2 kids:)

Yes to see the prison keys you must complete a quest first in northern netherstorm.  Any etheral can drop the prison keys even in blades edge, but everyone farms the heap as you can get the insignias too for rep grind.
Also, you can look for group for tempest keep instances while you grind, and you are close to area 52 for  repairs and vendoring and turning in the insignias.  Keys drop at different intervals, from 1 in every 50 to one in every 20.  As a prot warrior I pull 3-4 at a time, kill them, loot, heal, and pull more.
Consortium has nothing for a prot warrior but the rep is good for the monthly bag of gems you get from the npc in nagrand for "Benefits reward" repeatable quest.

area 52 the heap is best place to get rep there 80% drop and the keys to open the cages drop more frequantlt there 2 i got 7 keys in 1.5 hours

i just got exalted and got the relentless earthstorm diamond meta for my JC, i was wondering when do the gem bags become available again? the last time i was honored and got 3 of the lower green gems, i'm not sure when they restart and can get them again, i'm thinking a month later the gems become available again and hopefully now that i'm exalted i'll get some blues that i can make into stuff and sell for good $$, i still have to go to kara to get the healing meta i'm a holy pally so that will come in handy =) good luck farming all, i grinded to honored doing a few mana tombs runs combined with farming warbeads, then did netherstorm quests with a friend of mine got me almost to revered then just grinded insignias and keys to exalted, grinding keys and insignias is definitely the best and most profitable way to go, got very sizeable amount of greens from the zaxxis guys as well as a ton of greens and occasional blues from the keys, not to mention 500 rep with various other factions, on top of the netherweave cloths and 15-20s per mob. i just get the greens de'd from a friend i have about 8 stacks of arcane dust and 4 stacks of greater planar essence just from this not including any other quest, i also got an extremely rare and valuable LW recipe to drop (Pattern: Windslayer Wraps - http://thottbot.com/i29728) to drop from one of these guys on my last days of farming =) cheers!

Just to let everyone know you get a free gem bag every month the qualtiy and qunatiy of the gems all depend on your rep with the Consortuim. You get the gems by compleating the quest "Membership Benefits" I forgot the name of the guy who gives the quest but he is in the Nagrand outpost. Hope this helps.
