I'd just like to add a little epiphany, which started on the Wyvern Sting (level 70 rank) post.
Survival spec has many good points. Wyvern sting is good for taking on multiple mobs, and even better if you have imp stings! I personally found it fun in PVP becuase you can take the healers out for a while (and those insta kill locks). Traps are great if used in the right way (for both damage and tactics), extra health and agility + crit and a wing clip spam add to it. Marks talents are a definite must since it's our primary means of damage, but what you lack in that from going survival seems to make up for in the higher end survival talents. The Crit enhancing talents procs a good deal, and when it does (I have 30% crit with it, and my stats aren't the best, or so I think, check my linky below! Lol) theres a ton of damage right there. With all those crits going you gain a lot of mana from that other talent (bad with the names, you gain up to 40% mana of the shot when it crits). That mana adds to your own rotation for even more shots (^_^). I love beast mastery too and I occasionally switch, is has a bunch of great buffs and make you, your group, and your meat tank do uber damage and last quite a while. But for instances where your pet doesn't really matter, or it's its dead (>_<), you still need some pwnage!
Long story short all of the hunter talent trees seem to even out, to me at least, you just need to pick one that dazzles then enemy. 2 red killing machines, school of hard knocks, or relentless assault. (-_o)
