I heard that you have to pvp a certain amount per week and the average team will make around 400 arena points per week

I'm going to pick this one over any of the Crystalforge sets. This set has more stamina and crit rate (which is great for ret pallies).

this set doesn't sacrifice stats for resilience, so if blizzard ever fixes paladins so that any spec is viable for raids, maybe this set will be useful.

This is NOT for holy spec...it says ret all over it. If you are holy get the Gladiator's Aegis, which has better stats for holy like increased healing and spell damage.

I've found that if you've going to stick holy, strength and crit strike don't nearly help as much as intel, +spell dmg and +spell crit for soloing or pvp. I've found this be especially true post-2.3 when they added +spell damage to my healing gear.

Most of our holy attacks are spells: consecration, holy shock, judgement of right., etc. Mele is particularly pitiful for holies (despite the fact I'd been using respectable blue gear from when I was ret) whereas so far I've gotten my consecration up to 199 per tick stacking +spell dmg and intel.

From my experience: if you're going to PVP in battlegrounds, stick to healing - there's a lot more honor in it for you.

Is this a decent set? PvP is all about resilliance and...this has none. Would a ret paly take this or aegis?

The new scaled set (vengeful) has no damage and healing. True, this set and the season two version have no resilience, but this can be somewhat remedied by filling out your other armor and accessory slots with resilience items if you so choose. Blizzard is probably thinking that spell damage gives them too much of a boost to their judgements, hammer of wrath, etc. Spell damage is also helpful to deal decent damage to guys running around with enough resilience themselves to knock off 10-12% crits.

Retribution will indeed benefit from the resilience on the new sets since they'll be missing damage, though the new crusader strike will be unaffected. However, their healing will also be pretty bad.

In other words, I would recommend this set if you're ret, at least if you're not planning on doing the arena for the more recent armor.

Only the set will be made available for Honor purchase as far I know, not the weapons.

I just got me some extra honor this weekend, I'll go buy the legs first and probably the helmet and shoulders.

The chest can wait a bit, I might go with the merciless glad chest with arena points.

The season 1 weapons will be made available for purchase using honor. Starting 11.27.07.

thanks for the math m8! now heres a tip for u ret paladins out there who need a weap as well... get 20k more honor and 20 av marks, it's worth it, at least until u get gorehowl or hammer of the naaru

and ofc u need to complete ur epic gear. get the veterans sabatons, neck item, etc... very usefull, and another hint...
if u wanna raid, u might consider getting some mana/intel gems and buffs, not full tho, get crit rating ap and str as well

You get +35 resilience once you have the complete set.

According to 2.4 PTR Patch notes, blizzard is changing "items intended for retribution paladins" to have better stats. It is yet unconfirmed, but suspected, that s1 and s2 Vinidication sets will be changed.

Confirmed! S1 and S2 Vindication sets WILL be changed in 2.4. They are adding resilliance and changing stats, basically a scaled-down version of s3.

this set kinda stinks beause theres no prot pally armor. theres 2 holy sets and 1 lame ass ret set with 45 resilience max. WTF

  There is one set for a healadin - Ornamental.
  There is one set for a retadin - Vindication.
  There is one set for a shockadin - Aegis.

I'm a protadin and I'm aiming for the Vindication set. Nice overall stats: +intellect to cast more spells for aggro, +strength for more shield blocking and of course +stamina for more HP. Although the vidication set has the least of stamina than the others, but then I've already used honor points on 2 pieces already, so I'm not going for another set.

Why is there no "tankadin" set? Because if you're going into Arena or any PvP setting with a Protection spec, you need your head examined. Other than maybe carrying a flag in BGs, Protection spec is useless against other players. Even then, you'll find it's sometimes difficult to hold "aggro" on other players :)

These are PvP sets, not PvE sets, which is why they stack things like Stamina and lack Defense and (for the most part) Hit Rating.

While these can certainly be excellent placeholders for PvE gear, they're not really designed for PvE, so you'll always be lacking a little bit.

Tanks are very handy in AV. So dont say that tankadins are stupid if they join BG´s.

this is avaible to me from pvp honor and marks total of about 62500 honor and 50 Ab, like 30 Wsg and 50 Av marks Armor Vendor in Hall of legends in Orgirmar

lol whenever i look at comments for good pally gear all i see is people saying how good it all is for retadins and occasionally a comment or 2 about healadins. but why doesnt anyone ever talk about gettin better tankadin stuff at all? cuz im a lvl 63 tankadin and no-one is rlly help on here so when i pvp occasionally for some piece of gear i "want" i cant ever rlly thottbot it and see what anyone else would think about it for a tank its always the ret pallys that people comment about...

if u want to hear something about prot pallas and pvp is: save ur honor for the shield (stam one) and the spell damage mace
