Any rogue that doesn't start off in stealth is simply an idiot. Even combat specced you start in stealth to generate combo points and/or stun the target while slicing away
Dude you are a complete tool. Combat or not, a Rogue still wants an opener. GTFO and stop talking until you know ANYTHING about what you are saying. Fucking dumbasses on this site annoy me so much.
You FAIL at life. Like, epically. It's all about proper talents and gear.
If we Heal = We out heal a priest. I dunno about you but healing touch plus natures swiftness is an easy instant cast. Then healing over time spells: Instead of waiting till the tank is at critically low health to heal him we cast two healing over time spells and prevent his health from dipping at all.
If we cat dps = We are basically a rogue with an immunity to polymorph.
If we dps in Moonkin = We slaughter the enemy. Moonkin form is like being a caster with 50% damage reduction, an additional 20% damage reduction after barkskin, three tree body guards, and if we run out of mana we cast innervate on ourselves and viola! Mana is back up to full.
If we just run doing nothing = Use cat form's sprint or travel form. That's a 40-60% speed increase. Lets see the enemies not on a mount catch up to that, eh?
Start a druid of your own and be happy you dont need to spend the gold on its mounts :-D
Anyway, who needs the hurry?? Walk! True gentlemen never run :-P

if shammys get ghost bird and hunters get aspect of eagle why shouldnt pallys and locks get a quest for their own flying mount?
maybe somethin like a shiny gryphon for pallys and demon bird or somethin for locks
Sure, I'ld go for that, as soon as Druids get distract and vanish in feral for cat form, when they can AOE attacks for Balance, when restore druids get a rez they can use more than every 30 mins that doesn't require a regent.
As it stands, druids are jack of all trades, masters of NONE, so they get the various forms, including flight.
LOL
Blizz must of read ur post cuz druids get an AoE and a regular rez spell in wrath of the lich king. Still no vanish for cats tho :(
Cool, huh?
Yes, and rogues will... stab themselves in the ass and jump really far in pain (similar to flying)
I'v often thought that hunters should have a spell/skill that would turn their pet into a mount, no matter what the pet.
But "ride pet" could be misinterpreted soooo badly
Training this will get 225 riding, but needs 150 to get.
This is a really important point, thats for this (and I hope you're right because reading this means I'll be buying my epic riding skill).
The reason I say its important is because I was wondering if I could skip the epic mount and have the flightform also give the epic riding skill saving me ~900 gold.
upon recieving the flight form skill, you will gain 225 in riding.

Your caster form will start regaining mana 5 seconds after you change to travel form.
As with other forms, the druid cannot drink, eat or use items.
Flight Form has two specific advantages over a Flying Mount.
The cost is a lot cheaper than buying a flying mount (which costs as much as the training and buying of an epic normal mount).
Flight Form is instantly cast, making it even better for those sticky situations(cannot use in combat). With Flight Form, Druids are able to escape from nearly any fight or simply put distance between themselves and their attackers practically whenever they wish.
Originally, Flight Form could have been cast in combat, allowing the druid to escape a potentially messy battle. That ability was changed by Blizzard, however.
It has been confirmed that for the first rank of Flight Form, you will require Riding (150). Riding (150) is also required to learn Riding (225) for a normal flying mount. Upon learning Flight Form, you will receive Riding (225).
"
also, a question about the speed. it says increases FLYING speed by 60%. does that mean you move at 60% speed? that would seem weird, because it's normal running speed is 100%. you would slow down by taking off. having it be 160% would make a little more sense.
i dont know, though, i dont have one.
It's an increase so you take your 100% + add 60%.

*cough* Yes, the spell itself costs less than ten gold...but it REQUIRES Riding 150 to learn. For those of you who got your epic mount a long time ago and think everybody has one, let me refresh your memory: Riding 150 is the skill purchase needed to ride an epic mount. Combined with the prerequisite for THAT, Riding 75, the skill required to ride NORMAL ground mounts, it costs nearly a thousand gold without Honored bonus (which, if you've been doing any kind of questing at all, you should at least have with your native racial faction).
If you already have epic ground riding skill, then yeah, it costs about 8 gold. But I'd like to know how many druids have gone with the plan of "Gee, mounts sure are expensive. But I get a speedup nearly for free with travel form...I'll just put off buying that hundreds-of-gold riding skill for a while; when am I ever going to use it in instances?"
Yeah. It's like that. Oh, and just for the record--I do have Riding 150 on my druid, and await level 68 with lots of anticipation. Dinged 66 today...and I'll STILL be saving up the many thousands of gold necessary to get FASTER flying.
To anybody who's ever QQ'd "ZOMG that other class is so much better than the class I play LOL they should be nerfed!" ...just reroll the other class. If it's so much better, why continue to play in a class you feel inferior in? GG, guys.

A few patches ago Blizzard changed the price of the 150 riding skill to 600g (540g after honored discount).
This is an extremely easy to obtain amount of gold, while questing in outland on your way to 68.
Most quests give 3g or more, plus you can sell all the grey junk, random greens and blues, quest rewards you won't use, and whatever else you find or make with your professions.
Personally, I've found it easy to make 100g in just a few hours of casually doing quests with friends.

Some people may not think 60% speed is that fast - especially after being used to epic ground mount speed. However, sometimes it can save time because you can fly from point A to point B "as the crow flys" - in a straight line avoiding winding roads and lakes, etc. VERY useful.
1) What is the minimum lv to get a non - epic flying mount??
Level 70.
2) How much speed bonus does an epic flying mount give??
280% Flying speed.
3) How high can you fly? is it limitless?
(Not sure, but I guess there is a limit.)
4) What happens if you were to just, turn off flight mode or dismount accidentally in mid - air 1000000 feet up? can u mount again whilst falling? it would suck to die all the time when you accidentally pressed something =(
No, since you have to cast it, and while you're falling, you are stated as "moving". Druids can however since the Flight form is instant.
5) does tracking things work from high up? eg. if you are 1000 feet above something but directly above it, will it show up on your map?
Yes.
6) are there clouds?
Only as an image, you cant land on it.
7) I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS IM SO EXCITED! LV 57 WITH A WHOLE LV TO GO BUT IM ALMOST AT EPIC AND OUTLAND LV!
Amagad!
3) How high can you fly? is it limitless?
No. The outland sky has an upper, horizontal limit, as well as several invisible walls between the continents to keep you from flying off too far, or to keep you from easily flying Shadowmoon - Hellfire too >:( Your gryphon will start squawking and making faces when you bump into these walls. This is not always easy to tell, as it can be hard to tell if you're going anywhere at all in the Twisting Nether, as it has few landmarks to go by.
5) does tracking things work from high up? eg. if you are 1000 feet above something but directly above it, will it show up on your map?
Not really. To my experience, tracking has a range limit spherically around you. Sucks for hunting mines and flowers.
6) are there clouds?
They're painted on the skybox, and it moves with the camera. Thus, I haven't been able to reach them :P There's lots of flying rocks you can rest on, though - nice view. Outland rocks visually on a good computer.

It is nice and we do get flight 2 levels before anyone else.
My druid was my first, rolled her the first day of retail and she had been my one love until I leveled a hunter a year ago.
I enjoy both, but the druid is very versatile and never boring.
I have the epic flyer on my hunter and it took 3-4 months of farming and saving. I will do the same for my druid; but there is no *need* to go faster, and if it takes longer then that's ok.

Man, what a bunch of whining babies you all are. Face it, TBC is basically the Druid's expansion. We get lots of nice new toys and equipment to play with that actually has a use for us. But we waited a long time for it. Nowadays I can be MT for any instance I wanna run as a feral druid. If you were never a feral druid back in the days before TBC, then you have no idea what I mean, but when I used to tell people a year ago that I was feral specced, they would just laugh (rightfully so for the most part, we didn't have a whole lot going for us). Blizzard has made us a commodity and I love them for it.
But here's a secret. TBC is not the last expansion that WoW will see. I expect a few more classes to have to listen to this childish drivel about how their new abilities are SOOOOOOOO UNFAIR when the next expansion comes out. I have played my druid since day 1, and even though it was a hard road through most of it, I feel rather vindicated now that we are the ones that people are complaining about instead of saying "WTF? You're not resto specced?" Druids deserve everything they get, just like every class will eventually get (and have already) some spell or ability that will make the other classes drool and their faces turn red and you know what? Great for them! And if I want that ability bad enough I'll roll a new character. Get over it and stop whining you sniveling little panty-wetters. Your day is coming.
Anyway, flight form is awesome, and I really love that I don't have to buy 225 riding skill, because even though gold flows freely in Outland to some extent, it is still not easy to save up 600 gold. Those of you who say it is either A) Know something that I don't; B) Have no lives; C) Never help out very many guildmates or friends. I would have had no problem farming the gold in just a couple days, even only playing a couple hours a day, if it wasn't for the philanthropy. And although I can see the beef with giving only one class an 800g break on a skill that almost everyone who reaches the required level will get, I also know how expensive Druid spells are. Warlocks most likely spend more in training skills for themselves and up to 4 pets, but I'm sure that's why Blizz decided to give them a free-ish mount at level 40. Consider this our reparations.
So to you, Mister or Miss Warrior, Rogue, Shaman, etc... you will get yours, worry not. Just stop your jaw-flapping just because someone gets something that you don't. You will be in the same boat soon.

First i made a paladin, lvld to 60 and stayed there, it was my first toon, i love him but NEVER A PALLY AGAIN. Leveling up is such a pain.
Second i made a rogue, lvld to 70 and omg i love the class. Superior DPS, sap, vanish, shadowstep, deadly throw, imp garrote. Just what the doc ordered to gank mages, priests and specially locks. Rogues are cool.
Then i looked at my semi twinked lvl 19 druid. I was in a guild healing and rooting everything in my sight and the guild loved me. But actually the other classes got all the credits, i hated the whispers like 'stay with me, heal me' so made another rogue, mage and a warrior 19 instead (guild cried for a month or so).
After a while i got bored of it, i wanted something new, rolled every class till 30, was impressed by some, but nothing suited really well. So i decided to hit 20 with drood. Ok, the guild was gone, wsg 19 sux anyhow (class wise ofc, the battles are epic and the best in game) and it was time to move on anyhow.
By the time i hit 30 i was really impressed, kitty form is like a rogue spamming dots like mad. After 30 my rogue buddy (old 19 friend) was really impressed in dps, i decided to reroll resto so i could heal him. Took out Bag'thera at 34 with just the 2 of us, cleared the elite ogres 3 lvls higher in Alterac mtns and so on.
Now my buddy quit to play vanguard :( and i'm 45 atm.
Let me tell you this, if you roll drood, the first 20 lvls are soo bad, till 30 its ok but after 40 i get so impressed, this is truely the best class in the game now.
Ok, still a bit jack of all trades, but just like a shammy it's made for very experienced players who can deal with a lot at the same time.
And blizz loves us !!!!! look at the staves and maces added in tbc, awsome. Just as the leather world drops. And flying at 68, the epic flight form at 70...
Yep, my last toon to hit 70 will be the first to hit 80, that's for sure.
when other classes tell me to not shapeshift since its cheating i usually tell them to take away one of their major spells like pets for hunters or healing for priests and they think im crazy. they say "well what crap is that? how can i beat you in a duel without my pet or healing?" its the same thing with druids:shapeshifting is a major spell and is hard to kill something without it. before BC came out warlocks were making fun of me because they get their ground mount free. well HAHA because now i get flying mount free. :P

<<Bear Divebomb Technique>>
Required: Flight Form (Normal or Epic), 5/5 Furor (Balance Talent) or Enrage (Bear Form Ability), 1/1 Feral Charge (Feral Talent)
What you do:
1. Read all the steps before actually trying this.
2. Start in flight form, high above your desired target.
3. Turn off flight form.
4. As you are falling, switch into bear form.
5. Activate Enrage or time your switch into bear form (If you are relying on Furor) right so you have at least 5 points of rage by the time you fall in range of Feral Charge.
6. When you are in within range to use Feral Charge, use it!
7. If done correctly you should charge the last few feet to the ground, preventing any fall damage from killing you, and suprising the hell out of your target.
Notes:
- Technique is best used on a stationary target.
- You can also use this to avoid fall damage from bosses or enemies that knock you back.
- If your enemy moves out of range at the last second and you know you are going to fall to your death, switch back to flight form to save yourself!
- I know there is a video on youtube showing this technique (I didn't make it but I know it exists), search around and you will probably find it
Have fun divebombing!
